Uganda Police Marine Units excite Residents around Lake Bunyonyi

Excitement has rocked the people of Kigezi Region after receiving Uganda Police Marine Services at Lake Bunyonyi the second deepest lake in East Africa.

The unit was established last week by the marine’s operations officer police headquarters Superintendent Tabu Francis and is headed by Asistant inspector of police Sanyu Stephen.

 According to Elly Maate, the Kigezi Region Region Police Spokesperson, Uganda Police Force Marines Unit are camped at Lake Bunyonyi specifically at Kyabahinga Cell Kagarama Parish Bubare sub county Rubanda district near Natures camp site.

Maate adds that they have other facilities like a boat for operation activities along the lake.

Maate revealed that they will among other activities, they will concentrate on marine’s operation services on the Lake for safety and rescue services to people crossing the lake and tourists who mostly do boat ride and diving.

He says that they will also sensitize the masses about water safety and preventive measures to be adhered to while on the water 24/7 as a means to prevent incidents that claim lives of our people.
