Kanungu Red Cross Official in trouble for obtaining money by false pretense

Rogers Kumbuka, an employee of Red Cross Kanungu branch is in trouble for allegedly obtaining money by false pretense.

Kumbuka, a resident of Kibimbiri parish,Kihihi sub county who is currently being detained at Kihihi police station was arrested on Thursday evening while in Kihihi town council by Gad Rugaaju Ahimbisibwe, Kanungu Deputy Resident District Commissioner.

According to Rugaaju, Kumbaka has been convincing and registering people and promising to give them jobs in Red Cross. Rugaaju says that Kumbuka was charging shillings 50,000 from people he registers and assuring them a job.

Rugaaju says that Kumbuka was presenting to them forged appointment letters but assuring them that they are getting jobs soon.

Rugaaju says that he started receiving complaints from concerned locals last week all accusing Kumbuka. Rujaaju explains that he was forced to act after the number of complainants before his office reached 50.  Rugaaju warns members of the public to avoid being tricked by such merciless people.
