Kanungu man kills his father

Police in Kanungu are holding a 33 years old man in custody for allegedly killing his own father.

The suspect is Vian Byamukama 33 a resident of Rurama cell Rwekyende parish Kihanda Sub County in Kanungu district.

The case was reported by Edisa Musimenta 49 old sister to the deceased and area Chairperson of Rutoma Cell Kirima Police Post.

According to Elly Maate, Kigezi region Police spokesperson the suspect was arrested after killing his father Gabriel Kasuka 63

It is alleged that the suspect son of the deceased came back drunk at his home at around 9 pm and started beating his wife Adera Namanya 26 without any reasonable cause. The wife made an alarm which attracted the father in law (deceased) and his wife Jane Kyarimpa who are their immediate neighbors.

As they reached their son’s home found that when the two were fighting inside their house, he then pushed the door open, the wife of the suspect ran away leaving the deceased behind which prompted the soon to transfer his anger to his father and shattered his head with a piece of wood and bricks leading to his death.

The scene was visited first by OC Kirima police post and immediately arrested the prime suspect he found trying to run away after killing his father and now in custody at Kanungu Police station.

The team of detectives led by D/CIDO and SOCO this morning visited the scene and a post-mortem was done at the scene 

At the scene, a number of exhibits recovered among them include dry pieces of wood, broken pieces of bricks, and a hammer all with bloodstains.

The case of murder by assault has been registered at Kanungu Police post under reference number CRB 325/2021
