Rukiga man on the run over malicious damage

The Police in Rukiga district are hunting for a suspect who criminally trespassed someone’s land and cut down the banana plantation which originated from a family wrangle.

The suspect has been only identified as Godeti  a resident of Rweza village Kitojo parish Rwamucucu Sub County in Rukiga district.

 It’s alleged that the family of late Dalla Tadikonda of started fighting over his properties after his death in the month of May, 2021of which both Tadikonda and the wife died a week after the other died.

The family members decided to sell a piece of land to clear the burial expenses and delegated Provia Tumwebaze and Denis Tindimwebwa who brought in Macklin Ndinawe who bought it at 3.4M Ugx in cash and made a buyer’s agreement.

Surprisingly, the same person who got the buyer, one Provia, started illegally using the same land.

Elly Maate, the Kigezi region police spokesperson, said that on Tuesday 13th July 2021, Godeti one of the sons of the late who wasn’t around during burial, came in disagreement, trespassed and cut down the plantation with support from some family members who had sold.

Maate adds that the late Tadikonda is said to have been somehow rich which the source of conflicts is.

Maate further noted that a report has been registered this morning by Mackline, inquiries are ongoing for whoever was involved to be brought to book as the case was also registered at Rukiga police station under reference number SD 09/14/07/2021.
