Ntungamo district is mourning the death of Ritah Atuhaire a research assistant at Ntungamo health center IV.
The deceased was pronounced dead on Thursday evening at Mbarara regional refferal hospital.
Ritah was decribed by colleagues as a committed and focused worker who always served her clients with a smile.
This brings to for the number of staff lost in the second wave of COVID-19.
Kitondo,Nyabushenyi and Rwashamaire health centers have all lost staff to the pandemic’s second wave.
Ntungamo district health officer Dr.Richard Bakamuturaki describes the incident as unfortunate.
He calls on the people in the area to embrace a collective responsibility in the fight against COVID-19
