Locals, Guesthouse proprietors face arrest for defying COVID-19 directives

The Resident district commissioner Darius Nadinda has tasked the District commander to arrest people holding parties that are above 20.

Nadinda revealed that since lockdown was eased covid cases in Kabale are increasing day by day and this due to reluctance of the people.

Nadinda who was speaking today during the Kabale district covid-19 task force held at Rukiiko Hall noted that people have relaxed in observing the standard operating procedures and presidential directives in the fight against coronavirus.

Nadinda says that people have always come to his office looking for permission to allow them to have a party and has always directed them not to exceed 20 people.

HE says that Unfortunately people disobey his directives and go beyond 20 which put many lives at risk of contracting covid-19.

Now, Nadinda tasked the Dpc Kabale Byansi Muhammad Rashid to visit all guest houses during the weekend to arrest the guest owners, party owners in found organizing a party above 20 people.

He further said that the security will also make operations in Kabale central market and arrest whoever is found not wearing masks and observing standard operating procedures.

Byansi Muhammad Rashid, the Kabale district commander said that Ugandans are very funny in a sense that when you allow them to have a party of 20 people they organize for 200 people.

Muhammad responding to the RDC noted that he and other security officers will be directly visiting guest houses and hotels to deal with people failing to observe Sops.
