Police investigate the death of a Rwandan national in Kabale

 Police in Kabale district are actively investigating circumstances surrounding the death of a Rwandan National.

The deceased has been identified as Paul Bangirana (47) who was found dead about 70 meters away from the porous border of with Rwanda in Rugarama village, Rwene parish –Buhara sub-county.

According to police, the report of the incident was made by the area local council one chairperson Gerevasion Birakwate.

Kigezi regional police spokesperson Elly Maate says that it is alleged that the deceased left his home village of Kyasako, Nyarwambo, Kaniga, Gicumbi district in Rwanda on 1/09/2021 at around evening hours and came to Uganda to take waragi according to his wife one Goddess Kamuyenge.

It’s further alleged that as he was heading back to Rwanda while drunk, he failed to walk which made him sleep in one of the gardens where rain found him and in the morning of yesterday 02/09/2021 at around 10:00 am was found dead.

The deceased’s body has been taken to Kabale regional referral hospital awaiting examination.
