Ugandan authorities hand over bodies of fallen Rwandan nationals

Authorities in Kabale district on Thursday handed over the remains of two Rwanda Nationals who died in Uganda last week at Katuna Border in Katuna town council Kabale district.

The deceased Theoneste Dusabimana (52) from a resident of Gicumbi Rwanda.

It’s alleged that the deceased was heard making an alarm from the side of Rwanda in the night of 29/08/2021 and in the morning around 8am he  was found dead in Rushaki village, Karujanga ward in Katuna town council in Uganda with deep cuts around his head.

Another Rwandan national Paul Bangirana (47) who was found dead on 2/09/2021 near Uganda- Rwanda Porous border of Rwene in a distance of about 70 meters away from Rwanda.

It’s alleged that he left his home village of Kyasako Nyarwambo, Kaniga, Gicumbi district in Rwanda on 1/ 09/2021 in the evening hours and came to Uganda to take waragi according to his wife   Kamuyenge Goddess.

It’s further alleged that as he was heading back to Rwanda while drunk, he failed to walk which made him to sleep in one of the gardens where rain found him and in the morning of 2/09/2021 was found dead.

The bodies were yesterday handed over by a delegation of leaders in Kabale district who included Kabale district chairperson, Nelson Nshangabasheija,  , The Kabale District Police Commander Mohamed Byansi and the Kigezi regional Police spokesperson Elly Maate.

The Rwandan authorities were led by Gicumbi District Mayor Felix Ndayambaje  and the District police commander Gisanga Ndahindawa among others.
