Kisoro District police have summoned Kisoro District LC 5 Chairman Abel Bizimana to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) over allegations of an assassination attempt on his life.
Abel Bizimana is ordered to report to Kisoro Police OC CID in person on Tuesday October 5th 2021 to assist the Police in the allegations he made on social media that he survived an assassination attempt, according to a summons from the Uganda Police dated September 30th 2021 signed by Bairuka Eliab, the LC 5 Chairman.
According to the police, Bizimana is accused of using his known phone number 0774998125 to claim and post that he survived an assassination attempt on September 29, 2021.
According to the summons, Bizimana claimed that the Kisoro Resident District Commissioner, Capt. Peter Mugisha, attempted to assassinate him on the fateful day, and it is against this backdrop that the police have decided to investigate the matter to its conclusion because it is a serious matter.
“In accordance with Section 27 A of the Police Act Cap 303 as amended, you are requested to report to Kisoro Police to provide us with an account of what occurred in order for us to investigate what occurred.”In part, the summons reads.
Abel Bizimana, on the other hand, has vowed to seize the opportunity to expose the clique that has been witch-hunting him since his re-election in February.
