Five Samaritans donate to Kabale Elderly

Five good Samaritans from Kabale district on Wednesday donated an assortment of items worth over one million shillings to the elderly, who receive their treatment at Kabale Regional Referral Hospital every Wednesday, as one of the ways of supporting them during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The items donated include; soap, salt, maize flour, cartons of water and beans among others. The good Samaritans include the former Ndorwa West Member of Parliament aspirant, Simon Agaba, the Executive Director of Let Us Save Uganda (LUSU), Simon Byamukama, Martin Kiiza and Barnard Kuribakanya, both businessmen in Kabale municipality.

Handing over the items to the beneficiaries, the group leader Barnard Kuribakanya said they were supposed to handover the items on 1st October when the country was celebrating the International Day of Older Persons, but were advised by the hospital administration to hand them over when most of the elderly with diabetes and pressure turn up for treatment. He said that the donation is aimed at showing love to the elderly.

The beneficiaries led by 74-year old Kellen Nyamishozi, a resident of Makanga cell in Kabale Municipality commended the Samaritans for the support saying that the items will help in this covid-19 pandemic.
