A total of five people have been arrested in connection with the death of a 20-year-old man in Rukungiri district.
The deceased has been identified as Edson Ahereza a resident of
Kigezi regional police spokesperson Elly Maate says that on 14/11/2021 at around 11:00hrs the deceased moved from the grandmother’s home where he has been staying and went to Omukentomi trading center and met the suspects whom he started playing cards within the bar of one Kukundakwe Focus.
In the process of drinking, the deceased and the suspects developed a quarrel and they moved out of the bar of Kukundakwe quarreling and in the morning of 15/11/2021 at about 0600hrs Ahereza was found dead in the bush.
Maate says that the death of Ahereza was reported by one Malisieri (44) a resident of Rurengye cell Nyakabungo parish Guyana sub-county Rukungiri district.
He identified the suspects as Focus Kukundakwe,Alfred Nagaba,Jonan Kamwojo ,Isaac Byarugaba and Martin Agaba.
Police have in addition to arresting the suspects kick-started further investigations into the matter.
