500 million shillings have been secured for the re-construction of Maziba primary school in Maziba sub-county in –Kabale district.

The school in question was destroyed by the hailstorm last year on the 2nd of May 2020.

The heavy rain characterized by heavy winds destroyed a 7 classroom block, head teacher’s office, staff room, school store, and school furniture.

Ndorwa East legislator Wilfred Niwagaba told our reporter that he has since last year been working with Kabale district woman member of parliament Catherine Atwakiire Ndamira and the leadership of the district to secure relief money to reconstruct the school.

Niwagaba says that they have successfully managed to allocate Kabale district a supplementary budget of 500 million shillings to specifically reconstruct Maziba primary school.

He added that the 500 million shillings are part of 2 billion shillings which were allocated to Kabale district to work on other projects.

He expects that by the end of this financial year, the money will be sent to the district bank account so that the construction process can start.
