Police investigate the death of a Kabale woman

Police in Kabale is investigating circumstances under which a 46 years old woman died.

The deceased has been identified as Jackeline Kyomugisha a resident of Runyanjoka cell, Kitumba parish, Kitumba sub-county, Kabale district.

According to the Kigezi Police spokesperson Elly Maate, It’s alleged that the deceased has been doing casual work at Runyanjoka trading center by fetching water for sale using a jerrican, so on the fateful day of yesterday at around 20:00hrs, the deceased was seen by the reporter who happens to be a cousin brother at the said Runyanjoka trading center carrying a jerrican of water and never reported home.

 Maate added that it was today at around 06:50hrs while the chairman was still sleeping at his home, one Nyakato Mary, a neighbor came making an alarm that she has found the deceased lying in the eucalyptus tree plantation of Ahimbisibwe Tarcisio dead. 

Maate said that police was immediately informed by Tumushabe John Bosco 36 years, the Chairperson LC1 Runyanjoka cell, Kitumba parish, Kitumba sub-county, Kabale district, and a report of murder registered to vide sd ref: 22/14/12/2021.

Maate further said that the Scene was visited by the Homicide team and The Scene Of the Crime Officer, photos taken and sketch plan drawn, Body conveyed to Kabale regional referral hospital mortuary for postmortem/examination, Statements recorded from witnesses.

Maate said that Inquiries are still at hand to ascertain the cause of death, motive, and arrest the suspects.
