With only two days until Christmas, Rt. Rev. Eng. George Bagamuhunda, Bishop of the Kigezi Diocese, has urged Christians to refrain from wasting time drinking alcohol.

Christmas, according to Bishop Bagamuhunda, is a living promise that we are never alone.

No matter where we are in life, how far we have strayed, or how unfaithful we have been, God will continue to pursue a love that he will never abandon.

He is constantly in love with us.

Bagamuhunda made the call today after delivering his Christmas message for 2021 at his office in Kigezi Diocese in Rugarama Hill, Kabale Municipality.

Bagamuhunda observed that during the festive season, people waste money that they have been saving for a long time by purchasing alcohol, claiming that Christmas does not imply that people should spend money boozing but rather remember the birth of Jesus Christ by praying, singing, and praising.

He urged Christians to avoid squandering their time and energy on alcohol.

He urged young people to refrain from using and abusing drugs such as marijuana, which he claimed were destroying their futures and brains.

He emphasized the importance of children refraining from sexual immorality and resisting free things, as many girls have lost opportunities, lost their lives, or been impregnated as a result of taking their lives for granted.

Bagamuhunda advised Christians to put themselves in God’s possession by helping the needy as they celebrated the birth of Jesus.

He also urged church leaders to encourage Christians to get vaccinated as one method of preventing COVID-19.
