One person on Saturday evening died in an accident at Kabaare along the Kabale –Mbarara highway while three other sustained injuries.
The accident involved motorcycle registration number UFG 551 Bajaj Boxer and a pedestrian.
The incident took place at Kabaare slope along Kabale -Mbarara high way Rukiga district where the ridder identified as Mark Ngabirano (19) a resident of Kashekye village in Kamwezi sub-county died on spot.
Those injured include Robert Taremwa (19) a resident of Kashekye village, Robert Namanya (20) a resident of the same area, and the two were the passengers on the ill-fated motorcycle.
Amon Ahimbisibwe (18) a resident of Kahuku cell Butare ward Muhanga town council Rukiga district, was pedestrian got minor injuries. Currently at his residence after receiving treatment.
Kigezi regional police spokesperson Elly Maate says that the passengers are receiving treatment at a clinic in Muhanga town council while the deceased’s body was taken to Kabale regional referral hospital for a postmortem.
The deceased’s body was taken to Kabale referral hospital mortuary for postmortem relatives at large.
He adds that preliminary investigations indicate that the ridder was incompetent.
