Contractors cautioned against shoddy work

Kanungu district vice chairperson Henry Mwongyera has cautioned contractors in the area to always ensure that the works they executed are in line with the bills of quantities and meet the desired standards.

Mwongyera was on Wednesday speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a maternity ward at Kihiihi Health Centre IV which will cost 104 shillings and will be executed by DAIKAM TECHNOLOGIES LTD within a time frame of three months.

The vice-chairperson further revealed that the construction of new structures is very vital for effective health service delivery urging the contractors to work closely with the technocrats in ensuring that there is value for money.

Erick Mutumba the Kanungu district engineer says that the contractors will be supervised closed to ensure that they do not deviate from the set standards and work is implemented in time.

 The team also rolled out the  construction of Rutenga health center III at a cost of 158m being implemented by KATBEL construction company limited and
