25 women to benefit from Rukiga woman MP’s skilling project

A total of 25 women in Rukiga District have been selected to benefit under the skilling program organized by the area woman member of parliament Caroline  Kamusime   Muhwezi.

The group will be equipped with tailoring and garment cutting skills for two months in  Kampala courtesy of the women member of parliament.

The beneficiaries are from the four sub-counties Kashambya, Kamwezi, Bukinda Rwamucucu, and two town councils of Mparo and Muhanga.

The beneficiaries told our reporter that the opportunity accorded to them is very rare and commended their legislator for the golden initiative.

 Some of the beneficiaries include christine Gumoshabe ,Merab Tumushabe  , Merina  Akanyijuka among others.

The beneficiaries are hopeful that the initiative will help in improving their livelihoods since they will be able to earn after the training.

Caroline Kamusiime Muhwezi told our reporter the move is aimed at enabling women start-up income generating projects and be able to send their children to school.  

She revealed that the initiative is part of a bigger plan to have a technical school in the area so that more people benefit under the program.
