Police investigate the death of Nurses council deputy director Margaret Nyakuni

The territorial Police at Entebbe are investigating a murder and arson of Nyakuni Margaret Onzia, 66, the deputy director of Uganda Nurses and Midwife Council, Kampala, and a resident of Bugonga in Entebbe Municipality, Wakiso District.

The incident happened on the 29th of January at her residence in Bugonga.

Kampala metropolitan police deputy spokesperson says that It was reported to the police and the Fire Prevention and Rescue Services responded to the scene and extinguished the fire. 

He adds that the police have also arrested the victim’s son, one ASP Edward Bua, 38, a lawyer, and a police officer.

It is alleged that Assistant superintendent of police Edward Bua locked his mother inside the bedroom before locking the main house and later setting it ablaze at around 3 am.

Upon his arrest, a matchbox was recovered on him and he is currently detained at Entebbe Police Station as investigations go on to ascertain his motive.
