Ntungamo mineral police officer killed in an accident

59847 Pc Didas Natwijuka, a police officer attached to the Ntugamo Minerals protection unit, has died in a fatal accident in Kabale district.

Natwijuka, 36, was riding a police motorcycle with registration number UP 7325, Yamaha blue in color, on his way back to work from Kabale town when he overturned and died instantly at Kaharo village along the Kabale-Mbarara highway around 8:00pm yesterday evening.

The deceased, according to the Kigezi region police spokesperson, Elly Maate, hails from Mwengura village in Bushenyi district.

According to Maate, police were notified, the scene was visited, the body was taken to the mortuary at Kabale referral hospital, and the motorcycle was parked at the Kabale police yard pending inspection by the inspector of vehicles.

A reliable source says that the deceased was seen at one of the bars in Kabale town with colleagues after watching Kigezi’s home boys match against Vipers on Monday evening.
