In a bid to conserve the environment, Good Samaritan Uganda donated 10,000 fruit trees to Child Africa and Solberg College in Kabale.

Good Samaritan Uganda is a non-governmental organization based in Kabale and Rukiga that works with both national and international-based organizations to implement policies on the protection of the environment.

Among the fruit trees donated are guava, Jack fruit, bamboo trees, griveria, and umbrella trees, among others.

Handing over trees to the beneficiaries at Child Africa School yesterday, Musimenta Chrispine Rwaboona, the administrative manager of Good Samaritan Uganda, noted that they decided to offer trees to protect the environment, good air conditioning, provide shade, and provide fruit to the children at school.

She added that some of the fruit trees would help to boost immunity and control different diseases in the community. She said they would continue supplying trees in communities to whoever would wish.

She revealed that they have realized that the demand is still very high and are asking for the government and other NGO’s to cooperate and increase trees to meet demand.

She asked the public to plant trees very well and take care of them to serve the purpose of their intentions.

Benjamin Mugisha, a primary seven pupil, expressed happiness after receiving trees which will help them with rainfall formation, shade, beautifying the compound, provision of fruits and controlling soil erosion.

Augustin Muwanika, the head teacher of Child Africa Junior School, commended Good Samaritan Uganda for choosing them in all the schools in the district, saying that children will benefit a lot and they won’t feel hungry since fruits are the provision of food.

He called upon the public to plant trees and desist from deforestation. He says that the population is equivalent to trees in the country.
