The Kigezi diocesan Bishop Rt. Rev. Eng. George Bagamuhunda, has emphasized the need for love, peace, and unity during Easter celebrations.

In his Easter message, while addressing journalists at Kigezi diocese headquarters at Rugarama hill in Kabale Municipality, Bagamuhunda revealed that as followers of God, we need to unite irrespective of which religion, tribe, or clan we belong to.

He said that Christians should have hope and a portion in serving the Lord. Bagamuhunda condemned the increased sentiments of tribe and religion in Uganda, saying that “united we stand, divided we fall.”

Let us embrace peace and unity for the good of our country because our motto is “For God and My Country.”

He noted that Jesus died on the cross because of sins. Let us celebrate this Easter season as we repent our sins and forgive one another as a sign of respecting Easter celebrations.

Bagamuhunda added that we should live as one people in unity, support each other and share our ideas and grievances, especially with our political, religious, and cultural leaders in the region and the country at large, for us to attain development.

Unity, teamwork, and reconciliation are the only ways that can make us succeed in all the development efforts of our churches and country.

Bagamuhunda further called on the youth to practice moral behavior during holidays.
