Police in Rukiga is hunting for a suspect who assaulted a 35-year-old man and died instantly.
The suspect is Denis Majugo, who allegedly assaulted Kenneth Tindyebwa, both of
Rwenderema A “cell Ibugwe parish, Rwamucucu sub-county, Rukiga district.
Elly Maate, the Kigezi regional police spokesperson, says that it’s alleged that on 16/05/2022 at an unknown time, the victim, Kenneth Tindyebwa, was assaulted by one Majugo Dennis at an unknown place, but later the local council leaders tried to mediate and later reconcile.
However, on 10/06/2022 at about 0900hrs, while the deceased was heading to the health facility for treatment, he collapsed and died instantly.
The police were notified by Ketty Kabarungi, the mother of the deceased.
The scene was visited, documented, and the body retrieved and taken to Kabale referral hospital mortuary for postmortem as efforts to get the suspect arrested are ongoing.
