Police in Kabale on Wednesday netted 18 marijuana dealers and smokers in an operation today.
The suspects include Ronald Akankwasa & Richard Kukundakwe both of Bugongi, Derrick Tayebwa of Rwakaraba, James Ngabirano of Mukasinde Mwendo, Bususu Musimenta of Mwanjari, Nuwamanya Junior known as Fresh kid of Bugongi and many others.
According to the Kigezi Region police spokesperson Elly Maate, the joint operation of police and UPDF was led by AIp Mugume Oc operations (Ffu) between 11am and 1pm in the areas of Kakabano stage in upper Bugngi, Kaita road and Kigoogi Kiruruma valley near Katuna stage in Kabale municipality.
Maate revealed that operations will continue until all those involved in such vice are wiped out.
The case of drug abuse has been registered under reference number KABALE SD 46/27/07/2022.
