Police in Rukiga is hunting for unknown assailants who allegedly murdered a security guard.
The deceased is one Isaac Mwesigye 42yrs a security guard of the Ukombozi security service.
Kigezi regional police spokesperson Elly Maate says that it is alleged that on 05/09/2022 at around 0104hrs, Ronald Turyahebwa the pump attendant at Twibi petrol station at Rwamucucu, was asleep in a room at the work station, he heard thugs trying to break the handle of the door. He made an alarm and thugs flee away.
The attendant later, came out of the room calling for rescue from the guard, but there was no response.
He reportedly went ahead to call on his phone number but couldn’t respond.
Maate adds today morning at around 0630hrs, the pump attendant discovered the security guard dead lying on the ground at his work station.
The scene was visited and examined, the body is intact and has no marks of strangulation and has been taken to Kabale referral hospital mortuary for postmortem.
