The territorial police of Rukungiri are hunting for assailants who allegedly murdered one Eva Tukamuhabwa 50 years old resident of Katunga village Kigaga ward Southern division Rukungiri municipality/ district.
It’s alleged that,at unknown time in the night of the 9/9/2022, unknown assailant(s) broke into the deceased house, tied her neck and hands and strangled her to death for unknown reasons.
Kigezi regional police spokesperson Elly Maate says that in the morning of the 10/9/ 2022 at around 0930hrs, the closest neighbor and sister in law to the deceased one Adrine Gumisiriza noticed her door and window open,with out her coming outside.
On checking, her lifeless body was found in the bedroom near the bed tied with a piece of cloth.
Adrine informed her husband Bernard Gumisiriza who reported at Rukungiri CPS.
The scene of crime was visited and documented by the DCID/O and team, the police sniffer dog was introduced at the scene of and during the trucking it led to the room in the boys quarters where one Birungi a casual labourer hailing from Rugyeyo town council in Kanungu district working at the home of Bernard Gumisiriza, had already fled the village to unknown destination.
Maate adds that the body was taken to Rwakabengo health center III for Postmortem to ascertain the actual cause of the death.
