The games are coordinated by the Federation of East Africa secondary schools Sports Associations, FEASSSA, and Secretariat. The countries that feature in the FEASSSA games include Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, and South Sudan.

St Mary’s College Rushoroza team with eight players and their games teachers traveled to Kampala to join other three schools that qualified to represent Uganda in basketball for girls after becoming among the best four teams in the National games which were held last month in Lira, including St Mary’s College Kitende in Wakiso district, Budo Secondary School in Wakiso district, Dynamic Secondary School from Mukono district.

Speaking to our reporter before setting off from Kabale town last night, the Games teacher of St Mary’s college Rushoroza Victor Ahabwe, said that the prayers made enough training to compete with other East African teams, hoping that they will perform well.

The Headteacher of St Mary’s college Rushoroza Remegio Byamukama commended the school stakeholders led by the school board of governors and parents for enabling the school to participate in the East African event despite the current economic crisis. Byamkuma added that the school prioritizes sports because it helps them better the academic performance of the learners.
