Police in Rukiga are investigating circumstances surrounding the death of a 43-years old Leonard Tushemerirwe a resident of Rwempango cell Kyerero parish Bukinda sub county Rukiga district.
He body was discovered today (25/9/22) morning being eaten by dogs in a garden of beans about 100 meters from her home.
Kigezi regional police spokesman Elly Maate says that it is alleged that the deceased has been a village drunkard and that on 23/9/2022 she was seen drinking in several bars in Kyerero trading center and that when she became too drunk, she disappeared and the residents thought she had gone to her home.
But by yesterday evening 24/9/2022 she had not reached home, that’s when her children reported to the area Chairperson oneTushabe and today morning she organized the residents to carry out a search in the village, and indeed she was discovered dead.
Police was notified, visited the scene, processed and body was taken to Kabale hospital mortuary for postmortem.
