The Deputy Director General Internal Security Organization General, Lt Col Emmanuel Katabazi has warned civil servants and politicians against corruption

He said that the vice is a major roadblock to the country’s development agenda and described corruption as a great shame to the nation.

Katabazi was addressing Christians who had converged at Kabale municipal stadium during the confirmation of Christians from Christ the king parish into catholic faith and 841 Christians were confirmed into catholic faith.

He cited an example, Where Government officials are mishandling Parish development model funds, money aimed at improving household income among the poor, he said that those that have misused the money should sort themselves before they are netted.

He revealed that the ISO will be coming to the districts to investigate the culprits that have been involved in swindling Government money and those that have been involved in acts of corruption.

He revealed that Uganda has enough money but due to corruption tendencies among the officials the country is moving backward.

Katabazi’s reaction came after the Kabale Municipality Mayor Emmanuel Sentaro Byamugisha decried the delay of construction of Rushoroza road and Bwakosya road being constructed by multiplex company limited.

In May 2021, the company contracted tarmacking of 0.76 kilometer Bwankosa road that connects Nyerere Avenue and Kabale shopping center commonly known as Ki-college, 0.34KM Bushekwire road that connects Kabale shopping center to Kabale main road in Central division and 2.49KM road that connects the Kabale Diocesan Headquarters to Katuna-Kabale-Mbarara High way, all valued at Ugx 21.7 Billion. The construction at Rushoroza road was abandoned and they are currently at Bwankosya road

He insisted that as ISO they had refused to give Multiplex Company Limited a contract but civil servants later accepted that’s why all these issues are being raised about the project.

He promised to follow the matter through investigations by the internal security organization and present before the President of Uganda Yoweri Kaguta Museveni

Katabazi asked the Ugandans to take the advantage of the prevailing peace and work hard to enhance economic development.
