A Four roomed staff house was on Tuesday commissioned at Matanda Health Centre in Kanungu.
The structure worth 146 million shillings was commissioned by the area resident district commissioner Ambrose Mwesigye Amanyire who urged the locals and the staff to put the facility to good use and ensure that health service delivery is improved.
Amanyire further cautioned health workers at the facility to desist from absenteeism since they can now comfortably reside at the facility and also asked them to jealously protect the facility equipment and medical supplies.
Kato Besisira the assistant district health officer for Kanungu revealed that the initial design of the house was to only accommodate two staff members but has been redesigned to ensure that four staff members can be accommodated.
