The Ntungamo deputy resident district commissioner Robert Kamuntu has called on the councilors in the area to champion the mobilization of locals ahead of the integrated child health days and the measles Rubella campaign.

He was this afternoon speaking at a district sensitization and planning meeting for integrated child health days and the Measles-Rubella campaign which will kick off on Wednesday and will last for six days.

He revealed that the councilors are close to the people and should play a vital role in educating the locals about the advantages of immunization.

Speaking at the same meeting, the acting district health officer Beatrice Chemisto revealed that exercise is very vital since it helps in preventing diseases that would otherwise affect the survival and growth of children.

Christopher Nshemereza who represented the chief administrative officer revealed that the health workers play a vital role in ensuring that the communities live a healthy life and urged locals to work closely with them for the success of the exercise.
