The state Minister for finance in charge of General duties Henry Musasizi challenged married couples to take their marriages vows seriously and continue being good examples of marriage to the young generation.

The family unit is born from the stable and committed communion of two people, a man, and a woman. Marriage, the family, and the general good of society are so interdependent that one cannot flourish without the other.”

Musasizi made the remarks on Saturday while attending the wedding ceremony of Byamugisha Oswald and Elizabeth held at Branzin forest resort in Nyakambu Kabale Municipality.

The family makes a unique and irreplaceable contribution to the good of society. And sustainable societies depend upon strong families. The effectiveness; happiness and success of children depend greatly on how the family brings them up, he said.

Musasizi says that a family that prays together, where children are taught values at a young age, there will be harmony in that family and children will grow up to become good individuals in society since family is the foundation stone of society.

He said the most important principle in marriage is the strong Christian faith.

“The strong spiritual beliefs, your shared morals, and values will help to hold you together because they are the solid foundation which is a fortress against the storms of life.

The Rubanda district Chairperson Steven Ampeire Kasyaba, said that happiness and success of children depend greatly on how the family brings them up and a family that does most things together, such as going to church together, praying together, where children are taught values at a young age, there will be harmony in that family and children will grow up to become good individuals in the society.

Elizabeth is a resident of Ihanga parish in Bubare sub county Rubanda district while Oswald hails from Rukungiri district.
