Police in Rukiga are investigating circumstances under which a 58 years of man was assaulted leading to his death.
Kigezi Regional Police Spokesman Elly Maate identified the deceased as Milton Turyahimbisa a resident of Kanyasharwe village Buchundura parish Kashambya Sub county Rukiga district who was assaulted almost to coma.
It’s alleged that Milton, now the late attacked one Naboth at his home with an axe on 03 10 2022 at around 2:00pm with intention of injuring him for an unknown reason.
After the attack Naboth made an alarm that attracted a neighbor one Mubikirize Mark for rescue who later overpowered the deceased and bit him to coma and was rushed to Kisiizi hospital for medical attention where he has been since then till Wednesday 26 10 2022 when he succumbed to the injuries.
Afande Elly Maate also confirmed to this reporter that upon the assault of the victim, a report was entered at Buchundura police post, and when he passed on, police was further informed and went to the facility to confirm.
According to Maate, inquiries underway and efforts to get the suspect who is on the run are being made.
