Unknown assailants murdered a third-year student at Valley University of Science and Technology in Bushenyi last night.
The deceased has been identified as Suzan Muhwezi who hails from the Ntungamo district and was murdered at around 8:30 p.m. in Kitookye cell, Central division, Bushenyi Ishaka municipality during a heavy downpour.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the deceased was first raped by her attackers before being murdered.
Martial Tumusiime, the greater Bushenyi police spokesperson, confirmed the occurrence of the gruesome incident.
He, however, did not divulge more information but promised to get back to our reporter once he got a detailed report.
This is the second gruesome murder of a woman in the space of two months; another woman, Bride Julian, was splashed with acid in broad daylight.
