Ntungamo’s chief administrative officer, Nasser Mukibi, has cautioned staff in lower governments to treat attendance at duty with seriousness.
Mukibi, who was this morning speaking during the district’s technical planning committee meeting held in the district council hall, revealed that his office had learned that absenteeism had become the order of the day in sub-counties and town councils, where sub-county chiefs and town clerks rarely report to duty.
Mukibi added that the failure to attend to duty by the key staff has affected service delivery and must stop immediately.
The officer further revealed that the top district leadership will be making impromptu visits to subcounties, and those found to be absent themselves will be submitted to the rewards and sanctions committee for disciplinary action.
He also urged the sub county chiefs to work with parish chiefs and enhance revenue collection for effective service delivery.
