Five killed in Kampala fire

The Police at Kabalagala are investigating a cause of a fire that killed five people in Yoka zone Bukasa Parish, Makindye Division Kampala City.
The incident happened today Wednesday morning at about 2 am killing five people in the same household.


Kampala metropolitan deputy police Spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire says that it is alleged that the fire started from an unattended candle from a makeshift house of Ogola Charles who deals in picking plastics and later spread to the house of Luyomba Steven 50, killing everyone.


The deceased include; Luyomba, Nafula Doreen 35 wife to Luyomba, Lubega Sumei, 16, Naiga Edith 15 and Andrew 7 all Luyomba’s children.
The Fire Prevention and Rescue Services managed to extinguish the flames.

Woyesigyire adds that the details will be availed as police gets them and cautioned the public against leaving fires unattended as they are dangerous to others in case of an accident.
