Dr. Chris Baryomusi, the Minister of Information, Communication Technology, and National Guidance, was airlifted to Kampala on Saturday evening after feeling unwell while he was visiting constituents in Kanungu district.
Dr. Baryomunsi, who is also the Kinkizi East Member of Parliament, is said to have been at church when he felt unwell and was rushed to Kambuga Hospital, where he received treatment.
Sources close to the minister indicate that he developed fatigue.
The minister was sited yesterday, January 7, 2023, at Kyakikyere Church of Uganda at around 5:40 p.m. in Rutenga Sub County in Kanungu District, delivering iron sheets to the church, the same day he felt unwell.
His wife, Fosca Baryomunsi, confirmed that her husband felt unwell and was rushed to Kambuga Hospital and later airlifted to Kampala for better management.
Kanungu resident district Ambrose Amanyire Mwesigye extended his appreciation to the Kambuga hospital medical team for being alert and on duty at the time the key state actors were rushed there for a health emergency that required immediate attention.
He added that the minister’s life is out of danger; by the time he left for Kampala, he was in a jovial mood.
