Leaders of pensioners from different districts in the Kigezi region have
formed a regional association called the “Kigezi Pensioners Association” and
elected Kabale District Pensioners Chairperson, Silver Baguma, as
the interim chairperson.
Others who were elected include David Temba from Rukiga district as
the Vice Chairperson, Patrick Kabwiga, from Rubanda district as the
Rukungiri District Secretary and Rev James Karahukayo, who was
elected as the treasurer. Dennis Karyija, a Kanungu district resident, and
Erastus Nshaka from Kisoro district was also elected to the committee.

Speaking to our reporter shortly after the elections that were held at
Kings Hotel in Kabale Municipality, the interim on Thursday, Silver Baguma, the association’s chairperson, stated that the organization will assist in handling the pensioners’ issues by informing the relevant authorities.
