Police in Rubanda district are investigating the unknown assailants who murdered a mechanic and left the dead body lying on the roadside at Kaziniro trading center in Rubanda District
Elly Maate, the Kigezi Region police spokesperson identified the deceased as Hamed Kacunda aged 39, a Rukore cell Muyanje ward Bubare town council Rubanda district resident.
Maate said that on 25/4/2023 at around 09:30 am, the deceased left home Rukore cell for Bugongi trading center in Kabale municipality where he repairs bicycles.
ASP Maate told journalists today that yesterday at around 02:00 pm his wife got him there and he gave her money to buy food for supper.
She left him sited at the bar of one Sabiti at Bugongi trading center and continued home where she waited for him but in vain.
Maate revealed that,today at about 08:00am the wife of the deceased got information that the deceased was lying dead by the roadside at Kaziniro trading center Muyanje ward.
A team of officers from Bubare police station visited the scene, the body was found with deep cut wounds on the head and a broken leg.
Postmortem was done by Police Surgeon SP Odulusi in the presence of OC CID Rubanda D/ASP Aine Bernice .
He further revealed that no suspects have been arrested yet but Inquiries are at hand.
