The territorial police of Rukiga have two suspects in detention for alleged theft of vehicle number plates and threats.
Kigezi regional police spokesperson Elly Maate says that the operation was conducted on May 19, 2023, and was intelligence-led on hooligans who were practicing that vice at night in Muhanga Town Council. At the time of arrest, a search was made at their rented place, and they received five pairs of number plates.
They are: Ninsiima Frank, a male adult aged 19 years,a mukiga,a peasant farmer, and a resident of Kitaburaza cell,Muhanga Town Council in Rukiga District; and Isaac Niwenyesiga, a male adult aged 24 years, a mukiga,a peasant farmer,and a resident of Nyamabare cell, Muhanga Town Council in Rukiga District.
He adds that upon completion of inquiries, they will be produced before courts of law to answer charges accordingly.
