Rubanda commissions school infrastructure projects

The Rubanda  district Chairperson Mr.Ampeire Stephen Kasyaba, the deputy CAO Mr.Mutungi Robert and other district officials have launched construction of 3 classroom blocks at Nyamiringa primary school in bubare sub county, Kitagyenda primary school in bubaare town council and Nangaro primary school in Hamurwa town council.

The district councilor representing Bubaare town council Mr.  Obed Kitabutuka thanked the government of Uganda and Minister Henry Musasizi who intervened to uplift the schools which were in a very poor state.

Mr.Obed also said that the enrollment at Nyamiringa p/s has increased from 160 pupils to 314 pupils as compared to last calendar year 2023.

The district Engineer representative Mr.Bob Bwebale stated that Nyamiringa p/s will cost 154million ugx, Kitagyenda primary school to cost 168million ugx, both to be contracted by Bonnar and Nangaro primary school at 141million ugx to be contracted by Aziko Contractors ltd.

Eng. Bob added that all projects should be fully complete within a period of 4months. He requested all contractors to follow the BOQs and instructions so as to deliver perfected structures.

The district Chairperson Mr. Stephen Kasyaba requested the contractors to desist from shoddy work. 

“My plan is to improve all schools that are in a very poor state; including schools that don’t have any government structure,” Mr.Kasyaba said.

Mr. Kasyaba also said that these primary schools will be equipped with 3seater twin desks within this financial year.

The CAOs representative Mr. Mutungi Robert requested the school management committee and PTA to always monitor these projects closely so as to produce better results.
