Six Held over Murder in Kabale

Police in Kabale has in detention six suspects for alleged murder by mob. They are said to have lynched to death one Livingston Rukarekoha of Kategure cell Kigata parish Kyanamira sub county in Kabale district.

The suspects include the area chairperson one Karisti Katsigazi 54 yrs, Bebwa Selevesti 64 yrs, Baguma Telesiforo 49 yrs, Besigye Benon 48 yrs, Sunday Medad 50 yrs and Aringitwe Moses 45 yrs all of the above address.

According to Elly Maate the Kigezi regional police spokesperson ,the incident took place on 15/03/2020 at around 09:00 hours at Kategure cell on allegation that he threw stones on the house of the area chairperson Karisti and damaged the iron sheets in the night of 13/03/2020 and went in hiding.

Maate says that upon being apprehended  from the home of one Alice Tumwebaze, The victim tried to take off but was overpowered few meters away and lynched.

 He says that police visited the crime scene  took his body to Kabale hospital mortuary for postmortem and the hunt for all people on the run that were involved is being made so that are brought to book to answer charges accordingly.
