A resident of Bwashamure in Kenshunga sub county –Kiruhura district has succumbed to a disease suspected to be COVID-19.
The deceased died at the isolation of Rushere community hospital.
Sources indicate that the deceased was admitted on Monday after presenting Covid-19 like signs and symptoms such as general body weakness, sore throat, headache among others.
Kiruhura district health officer Ivan Kamya says that the deceased was taken in for management very ill and samples picked from him but unfortunately on Saturday he passed on before his results came back.
The deceased was buried late in the evening by the National Covid-19 Force in charge of burials amidst tight security.
Kiruhura resident district commissioner Aminadab Muhindo called for calm saying that the task force is waiting for the results of the deceased.
If confirmed, this will bring the number of Ugandans who have succumbed to COVID-19 to five.
