Parliamentary Seat Loser Embarks on Recovering Campaign Money from Agents

A move by the former parliamentary aspirant for Ndorwa county East Dr.Protazio Begumisa to embark on recovering money issued out to his agents has seen dozens of locals abandon their homes and are on the run.

The agents from the sub counties of Kyanamira, Buhara,Kaharo and Maziba reportedly underutilized the resources given to them for enticing voters to vote for him but he was disappointed by the results that saw him lose the vote to incumbent Wilfred Niwagaba.

Locals who include Godfrey Barugahare, Abel Julius of Kigugo in Buhara sub county are on the run after they allegedly failed to account for money worth 500,000 shillings issued out to every village to help him win the elections.

In Maziba sub county, his former agents who include Wilbroad Muhereza and Mbaga Tuzimbe all residents of Kigarama in Nyanja Parish of Maziba sub county were picked by the former candidate to yet to be known destination.

 Others who include Luka Banabakintu and another only identified as Irene are reportedly on the run.

Other agents in the areas of Kaharo and Kyanamira who talked to our reporter on condition of anonymity revealed that they have already received messages from the candidate asking them to refund his money.

The say that the money was used to entice voters and they wonder why he is going ahead to demand for the said money.

Dr.Protazio Begumisa the embattled aspirant told our reporter that the allegations against him are baseless and being concocted by the hooligans supporting his rival Wilfred Niwagaba.

Begumisa further revealed that his victory was instead robbed by agents of Wilfred Niwagaba and that he will try his best to recover his victory.
