Three held over murder in Rukungiri

 Police in the southwestern district of Rukungiri are holding three people in connection with the death of a 58 years old man.

The deceased has been identified as Godfrey Mugisha a resident of Kahimbi cell Kikarara parish Bwambara sub county Rukungiri District,

The deceased is said to have for long had domestic violence with his family members and on 18/4/2021 he fought with his wife and went on to burn her clothes on accusations of engaging adultery.

Mugisha reportedly went on to chase the wife Beatrice Tumushabe (58) and has since then been staying in the house alone.

Kigezi regional police spokesperson Elly Maate says that Mugisha was later found dead in his house on the 23/4/2021 after his 15-year-old son Banturaki Bainomugisha who was passing by the house sensed a bad smell coming from the house.

 Banturaki reportedly informed his other brother one Kyokushaba Alex (37), they broke into the house and found him dead.

Maate says that the two reported the matter to Kikarara police post which visited the scene and Postmortem was done and preliminary investigations indicate that the deceased was strangled.

Those arrested include Beatreice  Tumushabe , Banturaki Beinomugisha and Lawrence Tumwesigye all family members to assist police in investigations.
