Ugandan schools are urged to embrace the teaching of French.

Ugandan schools have been urged to embrace the teaching of the French language in a bid to equip learners with more knowledge and abilities. 

This call was made by Watson Friday, the head teacher of Kabale Secondary School, Amon Byaruhanga, while speaking at a meeting held at Kabale University to mark Francophone Day, an event held under the theme “To Create and Innovate in French.”

. Byaruhanga highlighted that French is a valuable language for networking and traveling, as it facilitates communication in various countries.

He encouraged students to practice the language to enhance their speaking skills. He emphasized the significance of acquiring another language, as it opens up opportunities and broadens horizons.

Mrs. Anny Bwengye Katabaazi, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Academic Affairs, representing Vice-Chancellor Professor Joy Kwesiga, expressed that this is an excellent opportunity for young students to utilize their time and prepare for future prospects.

She urged students to take French seriously and be creative in their pursuit of a career.
