Patrick Besigye Keihwa, the former district chairperson for Kabale who also doubles as a former Uganda Local Governments’ Association (ULGA) chairperson for Western Uganda is to be laid to rest today.

Keihwa succumbed to Covid-19 at Healthstone Hospital in Banda, Kampala on Thursday evening after being on life support for three days.

His death has since then seen tributes pouring in and dozens of people attempting to pitch camp at his home in Kitumba sub county mourning his death but this has been called off due to the need by authorities to observe the standard operating procedures.

Kabale resident district commissioner Darius Nandiinda, says that all the arrangements to give the former chairperson a decent sendoff have been concluded and standard operating procedures will be followed.

Nandinda called on the people to stay at their respective homes in a bid to avoid congesting at the home of the deceased.

A local radio station ,Voice of Kigezi has already made public its commitment to air live the burial ceremony of the fallen former chairperson.
