Police in the southwestern district of Kanungu are investigating cirumstances surrounding the death of 67-year-oldman.
The deceased has been identified as Catherine Bakamubona (67) a resident of Nyabubare cell in Nyamigoye Parish of Kanyantorogo sub county in Kanungu district.
According to the area local council one chairperson Innocent Sunday, the deceased was attached by unknown people who allegedly assaulted her.
Kigezi regional police spokesperson Elly Maate says that the deceased’s body was found lying in a pool of blood inside her house with the whole head shattered.
He adds that the deceased has been staying alone in the house and the attackers could have taken advantage of that to attack and end her life.
Maate further revealed that the deceased that there is no one who has so far been arrested in connection with the murder.
