Police in Kabale district are investigating circumstances sarrounding an incident where fire outbreak destroyed a carpentry workshop in Kabale municipality.
The incident occured today morning along Kazooba road in lower Bugongi of Northern division in Kabale municipality.
Kigezi regional police spokesperson Elly Maate says that the police fire brigade led by district police commander Byansi Muhammad proceeded to the scene for rescue.
he adds that the fire was put off by the fire brigade before spreading to the neighboring structures and the machinery workshop belonged to one Kaganza Margret a businesswoman dealing in timber.
It was established that property worth millions of Uganda shillings was burnt to ashes and much damage done, that included the structure, four machines, power saws, woodworks, and timber among others.
No loss of life and primary cause of the fire was not yet established.
