The Ndorwa East Member of Parliament Wilfred Niwagaba has donated mattresses to all candidates who passed in division one in the 2020 Primary Leaving Examinations.
According to the results that were released by the Uganda National Examinations Board, out of 1680 candidates that sat for the exams, 70 candidates passed in division one, 781 in division two, 453 passed in division three, 205 in division four, 139 candidates failed the exams whereas 32 did not sit for the exams.
Handing over the mattresses to parents at Kabanyonyi playground in Buhara Sub County on Wednesday, Kabale district, the secretary for finance, administration, planning, works, and technical services committee Bridget Asinga Tumwesigye who represented Niwagaba cautioned parents to avoid selling mattresses donated to children.
He also asked parents to ensure that they provide the necessary school requirements to their children in order to facilitate the smooth learning of their children.
Some of the beneficiaries who including William Asiporo and Leya Musimiseki commended Niwagaba for supporting the education department. They also asked the Ndorwa East education committee to institute a team that will ensure that all children that have benefited are taken to schools.
