Kabale police investigate the murder of a 56-year old man

Police in Kabale district is investigating circumstances under which a 56-year man in Butare village, Kitumba Sub County was allegedly murdered for yet unknown reasons.  

The deceased has been identified as Nickolas Barugahare, a resident of Butare village, Kitumba parish, Kitumba Sub County, Kabale district.

The matter was reported at Kitumba Sub County police post by the area local council one chairperson Protazio Rwakari 61, after receiving information from Moses Arineitwe a resident of the same area who discovered the deceased’s lifeless body today morning.  

According to Rwakari, the deceased, who had been working at the farm of James Tusiime, was last seen with his boss on Saturday evening at around 6:00 pm before the two departed and the deceased proceeded to the farm. Rwakari said that it was not until Sunday morning at 07:15 when Moses Arineitwe, who was going to work, discovered the body of the deceased in a trench of water in Silva Tindimwebwa’s farm within the same residence.  

The Kigezi regional police spokesperson Elly Maate confirmed the incident saying that the body of the deceased has been taken to Kabale regional referral hospital for postmortem as police continue to hunt for the suspects.

Maate is now condemning people against taking law into their own hands but rather advises the public to always use relevant authorities to harmonize their grievances.
